Project Description
Where
San Francisco, CA
When
August 26th - October 31st, 2023
Water’s Fault was hired to perform the water damage assessment in an apartment in a 2-unit house in San Francisco. The damage was caused by a plumbing leak from the neighboring unit above.
Based on the provided assessment report, the client made the decision to proceed with our company’s service for water damage restoration, including demolition, dehumidification, and reconstruction of the property.
Before performing the demo, a third-party testing service discovered the presence of asbestos and lead in walls and ceiling materials. Therefore, a licenced company was hired to perform the asbestos abatement service. That required setting up containment and negative air pressure equipment and taking special safety precautions in the working area.
During the demolition stage, we discovered a lot of hidden mold, which required us to perform mold remediation procedures.
Our team did all the work step-by-step, following the best water damage restoration practices:
- Protection of the working area
- Containment and negative air pressure equipment installation
- Partial demolition of damaged drywall, tile and insulation
- Asbestos and lead abatement
- Mold remediation
- Dehumidification and drying of the area
- Moisture level control during and after the drying process
- Reconstruction of the property to its pre-disaster state
