Our client found water dripping from the ceiling near the skylight window. After the leak source (the roof) was fixed, the ceiling was still wet. Being a responsible owner, the client felt it prudent to have a professional assessment of the damage and called Water’s Fault Restorations.
During the assessment of the affected area, our technician draws a moisture map showing the affected area and the amount of moisture content in the drywall based on moisture meter readings.
As a result of the assessment, Class 1 water damage has been detected. The water intrusion probably originated from the skylight window opening upstairs. Excessive moisture on the wall showed no additional intrusions and probably caused water to travel from the ceiling down to the wall. The exact location of water intrusion could be located only after demolition damaged parts of the wall and ceiling, including insulation. Water damage remediation was recommended .
So based on the provided assessment report, the client made the decision to proceed with our company’s service, including demolition, drying, and restoration of the property to it’s pre-disaster condition.
Our team did all the work step by step, following the best water damage restoration practices:
- Partial demolition of damaged drywall and insulation
- Complete dehumidification and drying of water-damaged wall and ceiling with the help of professional equipment
- Moisture level control during and after the drying process
- New insulation and drywall installation
- Patching and sanding walls
- Painting walls and ceiling to match existing colors
- Sockets installation
- Cleaning the job site
