Water’s Fault Restorations was hired to perform the water damage assessment in the laundry room of an apartment in San Francisco.
Based on the provided assessment report, the client made the decision to proceed with our company’s service for water damage mitigation.
During the demolition stage, we’ve discovered mold on ceiling and wall structures.
That required us to take additional precautions: build a containment, decontamination chamber, and use negative air pressure equipment. Also, we performed certain procedures for mold remediation.
Our team did all the work step-by-step, following the best water and mold remediation practices:
- Build containment, decontamination chamber and negative air pressure equipment installation
- Partial demolition of damaged drywall and insulation
- Mold removal and treatment of contaminated surfaces
- Dehumidification and drying of the area
- Moisture level control during and after the drying process
- Mold resistant coating was applied
Once the water-damaged area became dry, our team performed a water test, which allowed us to identify the source of the leak in the wall. Then we fixed the leak and installed additional waterproofing.
The final stage was to put back insulation, drywall, patch, and paint everything to make the laundry room look even better than it did before.
