Our client faced water damage in the living room. They called Water’s Fault to perform a water damage assessment.
We detected water damage to the walls around windows. It was caused by the leak coming from outside of the house. Since the leak occurred a while ago, there was a big chance to discover mold during the demolition. Water damage mitigation and mold remediation were recommended, and the client made the decision to proceed with Water’s Fault service to mitigate the damage and restore the property.
Water and mold damage remediation was performed, taking all necessary safety precautions. After the drying was complete, we performed a water test and discovered sources of leaks. As a temporary solution to protect the client’s home from water damage we sealed the cracks between the window frame and exterior wall. After the cause of the leak was fixed, we performed complete reconstruction of walls.
Our team did all the work step-by-step, following industry-standard practices:
- Building containment and decontamination chamber to protect the undamaged area from spreading of mold spores and dust
- Protecting the flooring from damage by covering it with building paper
- Partial removal of drywall from walls
- Mechanical and chemical anti-mold treatment
- Dehumidification and drying with the help of professional equipment
- Moisture level control during and after the drying process
- Applying mold-resistant coating to prevent mold growth in the future
- Installed new drywall, patched and painted it.
- Cleaning the job site
